Dancing with God

The Spirit of God leads us through the Word of God. By learning God’s Word, we give the Spirit the tools to renovate and transform our life. This process takes place in two ways. First, when we encounter temptation, the Holy Spirit recalls to our mind what the Bible teaches regarding that sin. When we choose to yield to the temptation and sin, we grieve the Spirit and shift from walking by the Spirit to walking according to the flesh.

Second, the Spirit leads us through conviction, which takes place through our conscience to the degree that our conscience has been transformed by the new standards of God’s Word. When we refuse to yield to temptation by applying what we have learned from the Word of God, spiritual growth takes place. We are now on the road to maturity, increasingly able to “discern good and evil” (Heb. 5:14). If we sin, when we are convicted by the Spirit we should to turn away from our sin and back to God.

Part of this turning involves confessing our sin, which, according to 1 John 1:9, is to be a standard characteristic of the Christian life.

This is why the most important aspect of our Christian walk is to read and become familiar with our bible. This is also why the enemy of our soul does everything to make us to busy to read and study.

Fighting our natural man is a fool’s errand if we attempt to do so unarmed without God’s word. We were created in the image and likeness of God, after the fall of Adam we maintain the image of God but we have lost the likeness of God. We mentioned before the “curve” within our souls, the warp and damage of losing the likeness of God will be our life long curse. Every sense, tendency, feeling, expectation, drive, impulse all curved toward serving the flesh, the natural man.

We do not naturally love God, nor do we rejoice in fellowship, it is an un-natural act. Unless prompted by the Holy Spirit it is only religion and not a relation with our Creator. Loving God is not about emotions but a mental commitment to walk in a worthy manner in the pursuit of God. Stop focusing on all the failures, setbacks, sins, lapses, they are all forgiven, a loving God is waiting for us to thrill to the chase of following him. That’s an odd sentence, we chase after God, we following him, both are statements of our position, God leads we follow, God is ever before us, we run after him. Draw near to God and he will draw near to us.

We are the first move in the dance. He sent the invitation, we must respond.

Eternal life, divine joy, peace and blessings to those the hunger after God, it’s your move.
