The Secret to Happiness!

February 14, 2015

The principle of agreement is basic to the Kingdom of God.  When we, by faith and repentance, enter into an agreement, or “covenant,” with God, making Christ the Lord of our life, we become children of God and heirs of eternal life.  All of this is possible because Jesus made atonement for our sins by shedding his blood.  The word atonement means “at-one-ment.” At the same time, we enter into an agreement or “covenant” with other Christians, because we are now brothers and sisters in God’s family.  The principle, then, is that because we stand in such a favored position with God and his earthly children, we possess great spiritual power.

Our unbelief gives birth to disagreement and disobedience.  But belief in God sows the seed of agreement, which results in obedience.  This is what Jesus meant when he said, “Yes, I am the Vine; you are the branches.  Whoever lives in me and I in him shall produce a large crop of fruit.  For apart from me you can’t do a thing . . . If you stay in me and obey my commands, you may ask any request you like, and it will be granted!” (John 15:5,7). Agreement with fellow believers is also necessary for spiritual power.  Jesus said, “If two of you agree down here on earth concerning anything you ask for, my Father in heaven will do it for you” (Matt.18:19).

Obedience to Scripture demonstrates agreement with God.  When we take the time and make the necessary effort to agree in prayer with another believer, we please God and can expect him to answer as he has promised.  Live obediently.  Agree in prayer with other believers.

When you pray, be certain in your own mind that you believe God and agree with what he wants.  James puts it this way: “But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to tell you, for a doubtful mind will be as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. . . If you don’t ask with faith, don’t expect the Lord to give you any solid answer” (James 1:6-8).

You can experience great spiritual power and confidence when ;you learn to live in agreement with God and your fellow believers. Your walk with God can be a delight; your family life will be richer.

Amos 3:3

Israel’s disobedience hindered her walk with God

2 Kings 5:13, 14

Naaman was healed when he obeyed

2 Samuel 12:13

David agreed with God and was forgiven

Jonah 3:3-5

When Joanh agreed and obeyed, God went to work.

You would think that learning to “go with God”, or optimal flow, or just basic common sense would rule the day, but basic goodness and fulfillment in our life is really simple; agree with God.

Go against him, trust your own instincts, be the captain of your own destiny. The path of fools. Agreeing with God brings peace and harmony to our lives, the one thing everyone human wants in the world, happiness, and it quite simple comes by agreeing with God.

God bless from
