love me tender

i am convinced

At no time did the heart of Jesus overflow with a tenderer and more sovereign love to His disciples, than when He said, “Let not your heart be troubled.” They were troubled by many things. He had told them that He was going to leave them; He had told them that one should betray Him, that another should deny Him, that they should all be offended because of Him that very night; and perhaps they thought He was going from them in anger. But whatever the cause of their trouble was, Jesus’ heart was like a vessel full to overflowing, and these words were the overflowing drops of love: “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.”

We often get bad news, sometimes from our doctor, sometimes from loved ones, no matter what the source of troubling news the Lord directs us with same directions; “let not your hearts be troubled.”

There are no magic formulas, no plan “b” just a simple truth, but as in all of God’s truth, often not practiced and it is our false belief that we actually have some level of control. We actually have no control over anything, except our responses, and often it is the wrong choice.

I’m a big fan of Bob Dylan, and my favorite song is “gotta serve somebody” that is ultimately our only choice, God or ourselves, our flesh or His spirit, His Word and His way or our carnal choices. You’re going to serve somebody and that is our choice moment by moment, who you gonna serve?

God bless from

So many prayer requests today, thanks as always to the prayer team that handles this prodigious task.

Pray for Olivia that she doesn’t grow bitter in this long battle with illness

Pray for those that are in chronic pain, that they handle their anger and depression that their bodies are crippled with pain.

Pray for Kim and her battle with cancer

For Jimmy who after 25 years of sobriety, threw it away yesterday and is in jail.

For Larry who is in jail and has been beaten several times in the last 4 weeks

And for Paul K, who is morning the loss of a dear friend and who on Friday almost lost his wife.

The mercies of God are everlasting, we just need to remember to find them, believe in them and keep them real in our hearts.
