sugar coating

It is a tremendous thought that when our Lord wanted to point to the most dangerous trap of all, He did not mention the wicked things. He said the most dangerous trap is just living and forgetting that God exists.

Most of us have probably heard the old story about satan and his demons sitting around trying to figure out how to attack mankind. They came up with all kinds of things, plagues, famine, war, pestilence, etc. the devil said we can only pick one thing so what is the most dangerous thing we can throw at them?

And they came up with the most dangerous lie they could think of, “let’s tell them they have plenty of time to make a decision about God.”

When we get so absorbed in the things of this world, to the point where there is a the presence of God and we cannot feel Him, his voice and we cannot hear Him, a light and we cannot see Him, then we are profane men. “Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived. Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it” (Job 3:3–4).

God will send him into hell because the busy man has forgotten that there is a God. He gives lip service to the church and mental service to religion, but he is a profane man because he cannot see the presence or the light or hear the voice that says, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28).
