forget about it

crown of thorns

Jesus is no mere figure of historical interest whom we can study dispassionately. We are aware of the claims that Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior of the world. We realize that we must make a decision about Him for or against. We are also aware that many believe such a decision determines one’s eternal destiny. We sense that so much is at stake in our understanding of Jesus that we must approach the question not with indifference but with the understanding of who Jesus is.

It is a question of ultimate significance to each one of us. Whether or not Jesus brings to my life an absolute claim is something I cannot intelligently ignore.

We must not forget there is a heaven to gain and a hell to shun. Forget about political correctness, or the intolerance rant. Don’t forget that every single person who dies without Christ as their savior goes to hell. Forget about the popular trend to philosophize Jesus to intellectual death. The wisdom of man is foolishness. Forget about being comfortable, polite, secure, friendly, forget about not taking risks or being alienated or thought of as that Jesus nut.

If you can let a person you know walk away from you and you’re not worried about their eternal destination than you really have forgotten about you being a sinner and the work God did for you. You have forgotten your debt, your sin, your wrecked life and are enjoying being comfortable over faithfulness.

So just forget about it, it’s not like you’re going to have stand before God someday and give an account about your silence, your lack of witness, your character. Just forget about it, I’m sure God will to.

God bless from
