May your life preach more loudly than your lips.

—William Ellery Channing

One of the Signers of the Constitution,

The problem with quoting people you know nothing about is that you appear to endorse them. I can’t in all honesty endorse Rev. Channing; not because he was a brave man, and a patriot, he certainly was but I can’t endorse him because he was a Universalist. (you know everybody is going to heaven)

Think about that the next time you recommend a book, a movie, a video. I once took all the deacons from my church to see a movie because someone said it was so funny. Imagine my chagrin when 5 minutes into the movie we are watching full nudity and sex. One deacon leans over to me and says; I thought you said this is funny, I didn’t hear the end of that for quite some time. (yes, we all left the movie)

I have people recommend “Christian books” that were pure trash, counselors that were ungodly, unscriptural, evangelists that I’ve stopped in the middle of their sermons and escorted them out the door.

The apostle Paul addresses this by saying if there are those preaching another doctrine than my own, punch them out (that’s my version of that particular verse)

In order to protect ourselves from heresy, false doctrine, being hurt, mislead, misguided and confused don’t recommend anything unless it is pure. Like books I’ve been given to edit or due a review on, I blacked out the bad parts so you won’t have to read them. (this was a theology book).

Like biblical prophets, you have to 100% right or you are not a prophet. 100% right or you are all wrong. That’s a tough standard. God’s a tough God and a jealous God. Stay on the path, keep your hands inside the vehicle at all times.

Remember Caliste Burt, as you know the doctors were unable to remove the third and final brain tumor. So she has to live with it and hopefully nothing bad happens, it’s like a ticking time bomb.

Pray for Stephanie Taylor. Doctors decided it’s to dangerous to operate on her brain tumor. So she as well is being told to ‘live’ with it.

Mike H, 35, and first heart attack. His dad died at 49. So he’s been all the right things but every year his anxiety grows.

Ricky R, starting week 4 of his sobriety. He’s attending two meetings a day.

Pray for Norma, Rick Sr. and Rick Jr. salvation. And deliverance from gambling.

Pray for Barbara d, salvation

Pray for Mona r, salvation.
